Havana Curfew
Havana Curfew

Empty streets on the junction of the otherwise heavily frequented Avenida 31 y 60 in the Playa district, as Havana is minutes away from a curfew for vehicles and people from 7pm to 5am for the next two weeks as of today, September 1, 2020 in Havana, Cuba. Havana had been already in phase 1 one of Cuba’s 3 phase reopening program, but due to rising infection numbers was sent back to phase 0, limiting public transportation and opening of restaurants and bars. As numbers still kept rising over the past weeks despite the newly imposed restrictions, the local government last week decided to order a curfew for Havana for at least two weeks. As Cuba fights the outbreak of the pandemic, the Ministry of Health has confirmed 33 new infections for yesterday for a total of 4065 infection cases and 95 deaths of Covid-19.
